Dilemma

What do you do when there is only ONE piece of delicious apple pie left... and there are TWO people who want it??

..........

Warm it up, cut it in half, give each half a scoop of vanilla ice cream and enjoy!

And if you're really hardcore you'll eat it right out of the pie pan. :)

HALFWAY!!!

Well... We are 20 weeks!! I cannot believe it! Only 20 more weeks and Dallin and I will be holding our sweet baby in our arms. That day couldn't come soon enough.

We had an ultrasound yesterday and baby is healthy and growing wonderfully. Our sweet child was a little stubborn and didn't want to give us a profile of the face or a view of the heart, but the tech was able to get baby to move so we could make sure the heart was healthy. We were given a video of the whole ultrasound as well as a few pictures. Here they are. :)

Little Hague decided to stop being shy so we could find out....

WE'RE HAVING A BABY GIRL!
Pink, princesses and bows... here we come! ;)

Oh, and here is a picture of me at 20 weeks. It's not much yet... but it will be soon enough. :)

A few days with the Padres

My parents came to Utah for a few days this last week. We had such a blast while they were here! They arrived Tuesday afternoon, and we watched Dallin play in an intramural football game (they won and Dallin scored a touchdown!) and then went out to eat at our favorite Thai restaurant. After dinner we went back to the hotel and talked for quite a while... until we remembered that Dallin had early work the next day and should try to get at least a few hours of sleep.

On Wednesday dad came to pick me up and I ate breakfast with the parents at the hotel... I had some delicious french toast with fresh berries and whipped topping! mmm mmmm good! While Dallin was in class, mom and dad took me shopping for maternity clothes. Dad was a good sport and followed mom and I around and waited patiently while I tried on outfit after outfit. I think I'll be set for a while... we found some adorable things! And I couldn't resist trying on the velcro belly that was in the dressing room... apparently this is what I should look like at 7 months... :)

Wednesday night was the induction dinner for the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society (which was the main reason my parents came to Utah- to see me get inducted.) We had a delicious dinner, took a few pictures, and enjoyed the music and talks at the ceremony.

After the dinner we went back to the hotel and watched a movie together.

Thursday was a very fun filled day! We had amazingly gorgeous weather (70's) and we definitely took advantage of it! We waited for Dallin to get out of his 8 o'clock class and then I picked him up and we went to eat breakfast with mom and dad. Then Dallin had to go back to school, and Dad did some reading while mom and I went on a nice long walk outside. Mom and I came back to find Dad sunbathing outside, chocolate milk and all. :)

We then headed to campus and spent a few hours looking through the bookstore, waiting for Dallin to get out of class. Once he was free, we got some sandwiches at Subway and went for a walk to show my parents the new pathway South of campus. We ate under a gazebo by a waterfall. Beautiful!! To top off our outdoor excursions we decided to hike the Y. It was a rather slow process (due to me being out of shape) but we made it!

Once at the top, Dallin decided he hadn't had enough... so he continued his hike.... and got a little beat up in the process! lol.

We concluded the night by eating at Costa Vida and relaxing at the hotel.

My parents left early Friday morning.... we were sad when they left. But are thrilled that they will be back in about 4 weeks for graduation! And this time the siblings will be able to come as well!! :)

We love you mom and dad! Thanks for such a wonderful time!

Tradition

I know this is a little late...

But I'm posting it anyway. :)

One of my favorite Heath family traditions (and one Dallin and I are including in our own family) is preparing and eating a green meal on St. Patrick's Day. Mom always did a wonderful job of going all out... green drinks, veggies, dessert, even attempting to dye the chicken at times. It was always an adventure.

This was our second St. Patrick's Day meal together, and I think Dallin is starting to get used to the idea of eating abnormally green things once a year. hah! He's such a good sport!

This year we had Beef and Broccoli, green rice (it wasn't very green.... but more so than the pictures shows), green orange julius to drink and green rice krispies for dessert. I'm still working on making the perfect "green" meal... but I'm sure that will come with time.

Birthday Boy!!

Dallin turned 24 on Tuesday!

He had a pretty busy day, but he found time to celebrate. :)

While Dallin was at school I made cinnamon rolls for his birthday treat. (well... I did MOST of the work while he was at school.)

Around 4pm he was dying to open a present, but I wasn't going to let him open presents without being sung to. So I got a cinnamon roll, stuck a candle in it, and sung a very lovely, solo rendition of the Happy Birthday song. He then opened a few gifts.

Birthday Boy then relaxed and watched multiple episodes of the Colbert Report (his new favorite past time) while we waited for dinnertime to roll around.

We went out to eat at Red Robin with Brandt and Liz Jensen and Jeff and Sydney Johnson. We had to wait a little while to be seated, so we toured the mall and took a stop at the kiddy rides. Brandt couldn't resist. :)

We had a wonderful dinner. And then everyone came to our house for dessert and games. Due to it being a school night, no one could stay very late. But we still had a blast! After everyone left Dallin got to open the rest of his presents! (he really was happy about the presents... just not about the picture taking.)

Thank you everyone for helping to make his day so special!

Happy Birthday to the greatest husband!!
