The REAL Superman

I'm going to let you in on a little secret...
Clark Heath.
My dad.
Is the real superman.

And today is his 50th birthday!!!

So I figured he deserves a post of his own. :)

S- Smart. Dad always did really well in school and pushed us kids to do our best as well. He gave me the drive that got me scholarships and on the Dean's list. He was always willing and able to help with homework, and was always there to support us through any of our school activities-- no matter how boring it must have been!

U- Unique. There is no one else like him. Sure, he has his dad's adorable squinty eyes, but he is The one-and-only Clark Heath. And I love everything about him.

P- Perfect. At least I think so. He was always at every dance recital (with flowers,) swim meet, geography bee, you name it... he was there. And was always so proud. :) He was my first date when I turned 16, my best friend, the one who taught me how to drive stick-shift... this guy can do anything. :)

E- Easygoing. I think I can count on one hand the number of times I have heard my dad raise his voice. He has an amazing way of staying calm and helping everyone in the room do the same. He is willing to do anything... as long as everyone is having fun.

R- Righteous. What a great example!! Dad taught me what it means to be a righteous member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He always goes to church, keeps the commandments, reads the scriptures, made sure we always had family prayer and family home evening (even though we fought like crazy at times...) and was always there to give me a priesthood blessing if needed.

M- Muscular. Like I said. He's the real superman. He has ran 16 marathons, and has no intention of stopping there. He is a master of tennis and plays basketball like a pro. He's always been in such great shape and is a great example to me. Someday I will exercise the way he does. :)

A- Amusing. Any activity is a blast when dad is around. He has the greatest sense of humor, if you're clever enough to figure it out. ;) I am always smiling when he's around. Gotta love that guy!

N- Neat. Yes it's true. Dad could be considered a little OCD. And I love that about him because it means I'm not the only one. :) We are always the ones to straighten out the dominoes, make sure pictures are centered and straight, etc. etc. He also has always been very well-dressed. He likes to look good. The only thing he's gotten a little confused about is that socks with sandals just isn't right. ;)

There are so many more things that I love about my daddy, but there just aren't enough words. :) We love you so much dad! Thanks for being the best ever!!

Oh... and since I know how much you miss Kylie... here's a little bit of your favorite little grandbaby :)

Thanksgiving Weekend.

It was SOO wonderful to have Dallin home for the weekend!! It got me extremely excited for the
Christmas vacation that is quickly approaching. :)

The Saturday before Thanksgiving we had a fun cousin dinner with some of Dallin's cousins. Alix and Jake were driving through Provo on their way home to Arizona so we thought it would be a great reason to have one last cousin dinner with everyone. It was so fun! And we were glad they were all able to meet Kylie. (sorry... no pictures were taken.)

On Tuesday we were visited by Jessica and Todd Shannon. We hung out at the mall while we got new tires on the Jeep, and then we went out to lunch at Dickey's (free soft serve!!) and then back to our house to play some games. We were so glad they took some time to stop by and see us.

We spent Thanksgiving day with Brandt and Liz and their wonderful family in Cleveland, UT. They were so kind to invite us to spend the holiday with them, we felt like a part of the family.

We had a fabulous dinner,

played frisbee, took naps, took a "family walk" to the cemetery, had a photo shoot of the Jensen's

and did a White Elephant gift exchange. After the festivities in Cleveland came to an end... Dallin, Kylie and I headed home, and took a little detour to do some Black Friday Eve shopping.

We ventured out on Black Friday to continue our shopping... and completed MOST of our Christmas shopping. WOOHOO!! We were able to googlechat with the Hague family that evening. It was so great to see and talk to everyone! Audrey we are so sorry you couldn't see us!

On Saturday, we slept in (as much as Kylie would allow) and recovered a little from the craziness of the previous few days. That night we went to the BYU basketball game.

It was totally crazy and loud. And SO MUCH FUN! Kylie did great! She was chillin' in her carseat for the majority of the first half. And then we held her for the second half.

Towards the middle of the second half Kylie realized how tired she was and there was nothing that would keep her from sleeping... even the screaming, chanting, etc. from the game. I was seriously impressed.

She woke up as soon as the game was over... what a goof.

Thanks for the tickets Dallan Moody!! We loved every minute. Dallin was especially thrilled to see Jabari Parker :)

After the game we put Kylie to bed and had our Christmas Decorating Party. We just couldn't wait any longer!! The house is so festive, and Kylie is mesmerized by the lights.

We love this season and have so much to be grateful for!!

3 Months.

Yes it's true. We have a three month old! She's growing up fast!

Kylie is so much fun to play with these days! And it's nice that she can entertain herself for an extended amount of time... so Mommy can get things done around the house. :)

Kylie can....

Smile and laugh

Coo and "talk"

Swat and grab anything that is put in front of her... and she usually brings it to her mouth

Sit up in the Bumbo

Support herself while standing... and Dallin is teaching her to walk.

Hold her head up.... she still doesn't like tummy time, but she is good at it.

Almost roll over...

Take naps!! And she seems to like to have the blanket over her head...

Recognize mine and Dallin's voices and gets really excited when Daddy comes home

Chew on her favorite chew toy... her fist :)

And match with her best bud. :)

We love Kylie so very much! She is just perfect and we can't believe she's been with us for 3 whole months.

Two days old...
Three months old.

You're the best baby girl!!

Let it SNOW

This weekend we had a TON of snow!!!!!!

We also had a whole lot of fun activities planned... and there was no way the snow was going to stop us. :)

Dallin had a mission reunion on Friday night. We met up and talked for a long time, and all the boys laughed at old inside jokes (while the wives politely laughed and pretended to have an idea of what was going on.) Then we all headed to Applebee's for dinner. We were a loud and rambunctious group. It was awesome.

Saturday morning we woke up to a lot more snow! We bundled up and headed to Dallin's intramural flag football game. THEY WON! Unfortunately Dallin's awesome interception ended up being overturned, but it was still a great play! They're in the Sweet 16!!

We headed home to warm up, and put Kylie down for a nap. Both Dallin and I were a little tired so we decided to close our eyes as well... thinking Kylie would be up in 30 minutes or so (like she usually is.) Little did we know, she would sleep for 3 hours and Dallin and I would get a 2 hour nap!! It was LITERALLY a miracle.

We ended the weekend by going to the BYU football game. We were SO glad to get tickets from Dallan Moody!! We had the neighbor watch Kylie and enjoyed a night with just the two of us.

We had to clear our seats of 6 inches of snow, but it was worth it!

We left after the 3rd quarter, because it was late and we were obviously going to win-- the score was 42-10. :) On our way out we found $12 worth of Cougar cash vouchers (basically like finding cash on the ground.) So we treated ourselves to a Cougar Tail and two hot chocolates.

The infamous Cougar Tail...
Going, going, gone.
It was the perfect end to the perfect weekend.
