Fun around the house!!

Here's a few other fun things that we've done the last month or so!

Dallin won tickets from work to the Hillsboro Airshow.on August 6th, so we packed a lunch and took the girls. We had ear plugs for them, but they didn't want to keep them in, so they got pretty nervous when the jets were flying around. So even though we left early, it was still fun. :)

On August 11th, Intel had a family movie playing so we went and watched Zootopia with Dallin. They had popcorn and lots of candy and the girls loved it.

The girls found a lot of ways to entertain themselves when I was too tired to figure out an activity...

Compliments of Kylie...

Mom and Danielle came back to save me visit on the 25th for the weekend. It's hard having 3 children!! I pretty much slept and did nothing while they cleaned and played with the girls.

On Friday the 26th, we went out to dinner to the Cheesecake Factory where we met up with one of Mom's cousins and his wife who my mom hasn't seen in 40 years. It was really fun talking and getting to know them, and the cheesecake wasn't half bad either. ;)

While we waited for our table we hung out in  Pottery Barn Kids
Our waiter brought McKenna her own plate of cool whip...

We had a water balloon fight while Mom and  Danielle were here. It was a little unfair once Dallin broke out the hose...

McKenna hiding from Dallin

On Saturday it was time for Mom and Danielle to leave, and then Mom did something amazing. She offered to take the girls for a few days until they come back for Jayce's blessing!! I couldn't believe what she was suggesting! SO long story short, the girls went to Kennewick for the week, and it's just Dallin, Jayce and I chilling at home this week. I don't know what to do with myself with only one child in the house!! But I'm finally catching up on some sleep. :)

Jayce's Birth Story

I was determined that this little guy was going to come before his due date!! So  I told Dallin we were going to go out on walks every night, after Kylie's birthday, for a few quick laps around the neighborhood. (In all honesty, I didn't think it was going to work, but I thought it would be nice to have that time to be outside and talking with Dallin, and getting my mind off of still being pregnant.)

After the second night of walking, I went into labor. :)

Last pregnancy picture at 4:00am August 16th
On August 16th I woke up around 2:30am having contractions, they weren't really painful, but I was so excited that I might be in labor that there was no way I was going back to sleep. After about an hour and a half, the contractions were still going strong and getting closer together (every 3-5 minutes) so I decided to let Dallin know what was going on. I showered and packed my bag while Dallin sent out a few quick e-mails for work and tried to get a hold of our friends who were going to have to watch the girls. (we really weren't thinking Jayce would come a week and a half early, so we didn't have anything ready...)

We headed to the hospital around 4:30am. They checked me and I was dilated to a 6.5! Not too bad! (The nurses never believe that I'm in labor, and they give me a hard time about it the whole stay. They didn't believe that I was at a 6.5 and not really showing any signs of pain. Oh well, at least they let us stay!) We were admitted and got to our room around 5am, and then they started me on antibiotics. I tested positive for Group B Strep this pregnancy, so I had to have antibiotics in my body for 4 hours before the baby was delivered. I was told to try and have nothing happen before 9am, so I got an epidural and rested. Labor essentially stopped during those 4 hours. When they checked me at 9am, I hadn't progressed at all and was only having contractions every 8 minutes, if that. So they started pumping me full of Pitocin to get things going again. It took a while for them to get enough of a dose of Pit to do anything, but eventually contractions started becoming regular and more intense (not that I could feel any of it because of the epidural. Awesome!)  At 12:30pm, I was still only a 7 and Baby wasn't moving down as much as they wanted so they decided to break my water and help things along. Things got a little scary for a minute because Jayce's heartbeat plummeted as soon as my water broke and he was moving down further into the birth canal. They put an oxygen mask on me and flipped my body over to try and help Jayce. After a minute or so his heart rate went back up and stayed normal. WHEW! Crisis averted. So then we just waited a while longer until I felt like it was time to push (which I'm glad I had enough feeling to know that it was time to push and that I was having contractions because they were able to take all the monitors off of me.) Around 2:30pm I started pushing, and Jayce was born at 2:38pm. His umbilical cord was wrapped all around his body (I told you he was a mover...), twice around his neck and once around his arm, but when he was delivered he kind of just flipped through it and amazingly there were no problems. He weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz, and was 20 3/4 inches long and was a perfectly healthy little boy! I was so glad he was finally here!

I had a little bit of hemorrhaging afterward, but nothing like what I had with McKenna. I was lucky and the midwife that delivered McKenna was the one who delivered Jayce! She remembered me (I guess you make an impression when you try to bleed out on the table and then come back for more 20 months later...) and she took all the precautions she could to ensure we didn't have more problems this time.

And that's about it! The girls were able to come see him after dinner that night, and other than the REALLY loud and annoying construction that was going on right outside our room, the rest of the hospital visit was normal and uneventful.

1st time meeting baby brother:

Had to try some of mom's vanilla milkshake.
We're a family of FIVE!!!!
2nd visit:

big helper already!
I'm ready!
Play break...
...and back to the baby!
Kylie adores him
Someone was a little excited to eat the celebration cheesecake the hospital gave us.
The rest of the week was full of resting and a lot of love from Kylie, McKenna and the rest of the family! Thank you everyone for coming to celebrate our newest addition, and for helping me have a speedy recovery!

Going home!!
Giving brother his presents

After a day or so... we ALL needed to get out of the house. So we went on a walk. :)

And there he is, cute as a button.
