Halloween Festivities

The kids had quite a few opportunities to dress-up this year!

Kylie was Moana. McKenna was a kakamora from Moana. And Jayce was Calvin (with his Hobbes who was lovingly made especially for him by our dear friend Jana.)

We had our ward party, with a trunk or treat. We ended up getting rained out so the trunk or treat was brought indoors. But they still loved it.

Then we went trick-or-treating at Dallin's work. They kids love searching for the balloons amongst all the cubes to find who has candy.

McKenna added the stickers on her costume all on her own...
Kylie's school held a fall carnival, with lots of games and food. The girls had a blast running around and trying out all the games, but their favorite by far was the bounce house.

And lastly, the actual trick or treating on Halloween night. We thought we were going to get rained on, but we had a beautiful clear night! The kids got WAY too much candy, after a few weeks I bagged it up and sent it to work with Dallin... we don't need that in our house.

Another Birthday!

Well... no matter how young I think I am in my mind... the birthdays keep coming! lol

This year my birthday landed on a Sunday. and not just any Sunday... Primary Program Sunday!! What a wonderful birthday gift! Kylie is so confident and makes me so proud seeing her sing every word to every song. (I tried to get her to wish me a happy birthday from the microphone after she said her speaking part... but she's far too mature to be tricked into doing something like that.)

I also got to teach relief Society on my birthday. Lucky me! A good friend made sure everyone sang to me before we started our lesson, so that helped ease my nerves a little. :)

Can't forget the biggest surprise of the day!! When we walked into church Sunday morning, my parents were there!! They had driven down the night before (in a terrible storm) to be here for my birthday!! Dad and Mom spent the day with us, helped with dinner, had dessert, and then had to drive back home that night!! I sure love them, they make me feel so special and loved.

I celebrated my birthday all week long, and ended the celebration by going to Olive Garden with some of my good friends. Even though it means I'm getting older... I still love birthdays. :) :)

That says McKenna... in case you were wondering
His first squat! Jayce decided to start walking for my birthday gift this year.

School Update

Kylie loves school. She is learning so much.

I miss her every day. It has been a serious adjustment having my big helper gone all day. I didn't notice or appreciate how much she helped me around the house, and how much she kept McKenna out of trouble!!

She rides the bus every day, and has a great time. She gets really bummed if we miss the bus in the morning and have to drive in the CAR. lol

Some fun things to mention from the last few months:

Favorite Character Day:
Kylie wanted to be Moana. So I whipped up a costume with materials I had laying around the house. She looked so cute.

Crazy hair Day.
Kylie was determined to have green hair. So I put her hair in the "dinosaur" style she liked and we spray painted it green. She's so awesome.

At school, the kids earn Pride tickets (because their mascot is a Lion) for good behavior and every month all of those tickets are put into a pot and at an assembly one name is drawn and that child earns a prize for their class. Well in October, Kylie had her name drawn! She earned her class a technology party. I love the picture her teacher took of her in front of everyone.

Soccer

Kylie was part of a city soccer league this fall. She loved it!!

Her team name was Pinkalicious, some of her best friends were on the team. Another girl on the team is in Kylie's Kindergarten class, so that was fun!

If you ask her, they won every game as long as they scored a goal. The team never actually won a game, the girls on our team just had too much fun talking and were kind enough to stand by and watch the other teams as they ran down the field with the ball. ha!

Kylie ended up being pretty fierce and was really good at stealing the ball and dribbling down the field, her only problem was her short little legs wouldn't move fast enough and the other team always caught up to her. But she'd take the ball right back. It was pretty fun to watch.

Her favorite games were in the pouring rain. I'm glad I've raised her to love being out in the rain and to not be afraid of mud. :)

I wish I had a picture of Dallin from this game in the rain. He slipped in the middle of the field while coaching and was just as muddy as the players by the end.
We had a little team party at the end of the season and each of the girls got a pink trophy and team pictures. Kylie hung them on her wall as soon as she got home.

I hope she keeps it up! So fun to watch her grow, and so fun to watch the dads out there coaching and trying to get the girls motivated to DO something. ha!!
