Our first few days of vacation

Before heading home... we had to see the Temple Square lights one last time. They were as wonderful as ever. I will miss being so close to the beautiful Salt Lake Temple.

We got to Kennewick on Wednesday December 12th. And it's been a party ever since!!

Kylie turned four months old on the 13th!! She is such a little cutie! She is learning how to rollover and is laughing when we tickle her. It is ADORABLE!! :) At her 4 month check-up she weighed 10lb. 10oz. (<5%) and was 24inches long (50%).

On Thursday we went to Trevor's band recital. They started a little bit early.... so we only got hear the last song. But he did a great job! And he looked great in his Santa hat!

On Saturday the 15th Dallin, Dad, Trevor and I ran the Cable Bridge 10K. We saw Lori and Julie at the beginning of the race, they ran the 5K and did amazing! Dallin and I did better than I thought we would since we only running 3-4 times to "train."

On Monday the 17th, Dallin, Kylie and I drove to Hillsboro to check into our apartment. Unfortunately, our boxes of stuff had not arrived (even though Uhaul "promised" they would be there.) We stayed the night at our cousin Darcee's house. Brent made the most AMAZING salmon I have ever eaten. The next day our boxes arrived so we started moving our stuff in. We didn't have any help... and it decided to snow like crazy.... but we got it all done. Everything is literally thrown and piled in the front room, but we were soaking and Kylie was screaming so we didn't care. haha! We stayed another night with the Burnett's, did a little Christmas shopping (tax free!!) and then headed home on Wednesday.

This is how wet Dallin was after the first few minutes...

We took family pictures when we got home. Kylie is such a little model. Thanks Danielle for being our photographer.

Lately...

We've been extremely a little busy lately... but I wanted to get up a quick post before we go home for the holidays and madness happens. :)

So here's what we have been up to.
  • Breaking out the warm clothes
  • Doing crafts (okay so it's only one... but I have a lot more planned)
  • Playing with new toys
  • Mastering tummy time and grabbing anything within reach
  • Putting up Christmas decorations and playing with the lights
  • Packing up our house... and cleaning, and sleeping on the floor. (we put all of our stuff into a two Uhaul UBoxes on Friday and Saturday.... so we have been without furniture for a few days)
Dallin decided to wrap up in the fitted sheet for warmth
oh... and they accidentally gave us one of their storage boxes... so we had a few extra packing blankets (like 12 dozen too many...)

  • Schooling- DALLIN IS DONE!!!!! no more staying up until 3am writing code!!
  • Sleep training

Kylie is doing SO well! We start our nightly routine at 7:30pm. Take a bath, read a story, eat, wrap her in a blanket, turn on the mobile, give her a kiss and leave her in the pack and play. We decided to try the "cry it out" method, but we go in every 10ish minutes to comfort her- but we don't pick her up. The first night she cried for an hour and a half, and I was bawling as well.... so we went and got her. (... epic fail) The second night she cried for 2.5 hours, but eventually put herself to sleep. Don't worry it's much better now!! She is now to the point where we lay her down, and she doesn't cry at all and is asleep by the time the mobile stops playing. And she sleeps until 6am. It is amazing to actually sleep though the night. I feel rested for the first time in months.

The REAL Superman

I'm going to let you in on a little secret...
Clark Heath.
My dad.
Is the real superman.

And today is his 50th birthday!!!

So I figured he deserves a post of his own. :)

S- Smart. Dad always did really well in school and pushed us kids to do our best as well. He gave me the drive that got me scholarships and on the Dean's list. He was always willing and able to help with homework, and was always there to support us through any of our school activities-- no matter how boring it must have been!

U- Unique. There is no one else like him. Sure, he has his dad's adorable squinty eyes, but he is The one-and-only Clark Heath. And I love everything about him.

P- Perfect. At least I think so. He was always at every dance recital (with flowers,) swim meet, geography bee, you name it... he was there. And was always so proud. :) He was my first date when I turned 16, my best friend, the one who taught me how to drive stick-shift... this guy can do anything. :)

E- Easygoing. I think I can count on one hand the number of times I have heard my dad raise his voice. He has an amazing way of staying calm and helping everyone in the room do the same. He is willing to do anything... as long as everyone is having fun.

R- Righteous. What a great example!! Dad taught me what it means to be a righteous member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He always goes to church, keeps the commandments, reads the scriptures, made sure we always had family prayer and family home evening (even though we fought like crazy at times...) and was always there to give me a priesthood blessing if needed.

M- Muscular. Like I said. He's the real superman. He has ran 16 marathons, and has no intention of stopping there. He is a master of tennis and plays basketball like a pro. He's always been in such great shape and is a great example to me. Someday I will exercise the way he does. :)

A- Amusing. Any activity is a blast when dad is around. He has the greatest sense of humor, if you're clever enough to figure it out. ;) I am always smiling when he's around. Gotta love that guy!

N- Neat. Yes it's true. Dad could be considered a little OCD. And I love that about him because it means I'm not the only one. :) We are always the ones to straighten out the dominoes, make sure pictures are centered and straight, etc. etc. He also has always been very well-dressed. He likes to look good. The only thing he's gotten a little confused about is that socks with sandals just isn't right. ;)

There are so many more things that I love about my daddy, but there just aren't enough words. :) We love you so much dad! Thanks for being the best ever!!

Oh... and since I know how much you miss Kylie... here's a little bit of your favorite little grandbaby :)
