Easter

We had a really fun Easter weekend.

We celebrated with our friends on Saturday. The kiddos had a super low-key Easter Egg hunt. Kylie did great. And Dallin and I enjoyed the candy she found. ;)

We then talked and ate food with all the friends for a long time. We also took time for a birthday celebration for our friend Phil. Sierra made an amazing ice cream cake.

Saturday night my family came into town. They got in pretty late so we didn't do a whole lot on Saturday. But we had a super fun Easter with them.

The family watched Kylie during church while I accompanied the choir (for 5 musical numbers) and while Dallin and I sang a duet. It was a lovely Easter Program.

We ran home and found the baskets that the Easter bunny had hidden. Kylie was looking for eggs and didn't really get the idea that she was looking for a basket. haha. She was excited about the bubbles and chalk that she got in her basket.

We finished the day with naps, and then a delicious ham and potatoes dinner. Then my family had to head home to get Danielle and Dad back for work on Monday morning.

It was a super quick trip, but we loved having the family here.

New Car!!

After months and months of borrowing my parents Envoy, we finally bit the bullet and bought a car! woot woot!

We did a little bit of negotiating to get the best deal we could... and we went for it.

We got to ring the bell for making a purchase! ha.

We are so excited and love our little Accord.

Great Urban Race

Last year Dallin did the Great Urban Race, and loved it so much that he wanted me to do it with him.

So we did.

And we ended up getting 8th place and qualifying for Nationals. Ha. Awesome.

At the beginning everyone is given a clue sheet, and you have to solve different puzzles to find out the 11 locations that you have to run to for the race. We took about 20 minutes solving the puzzles and mapping out our route. And we were off. You had to take a picture at each spot... so here ya go.

I know.
We are so lovely.

We got to play stringed instruments, eat chocolate covered larvae, blow ping pong balls from one water cup into another, do a wild woman dance, and may other exciting things. It was crazy and awesome.

We had so much fun. And the best part, you don't even realize that by the end you've run around 6 miles.

After the race, we came home and filled the planters that Dallin had made for our garden.

Kylie was in HEAVEN... if you couldn't tell. :)
And planted all the wonderful seeds that will "hopefully" give us lots of delicious veggies later this year! :)

Obsession

Kylie is in LOVE with this book.

We read it every day. After lunch. Before nap. After nap. Before bed. She starts saying head and toe and turning her head while we are on walks.

So we finally got it on video. Because I'm sure by next week she'll have a new favorite and won't want to read this one anymore... at least that's what happened with the last 10 favorite books. lol.

Tulips

Mom and Trevor decided that having us home for a few days wasn't enough time with "the cuteness" so they drove us back to Hillsboro and stayed with us for a few more days. (it was Trevor's spring break.)

We didn't do a whole lot, due to Kylie and I having an unfortunate bout with the flu bug... but we did get in a little shopping, a late night $5 movie, and a visit to the Tulip Festival. It was incredible.

And if you have an afternoon... you should totally go. It's in Woodburn (conveniently 15 minutes from the outlet mall!!)

The Cheese
she went along an entire row smelling each tulip she could reach...
They were throwing away PILES of tulips... so Kylie snagged a few.
