Locks of Love

I have never considered myself to be good with words, and I'm not always the best at expressing my feelings.... especially when it comes to really sensitive and personal things.

But I do feel that certain acts can attempt to express how I feel and what I want to say.

So here is my way of saying:
We love you and miss you Keith the Mighty.

We loved every minute spent with you. You brightened my day, and made me appreciate all the small things in life (like acting like a superhero and fighting off the bad guys.)

Two. Months.

I can't believe it... my Kylie Baby is growing up so fast!!

I braved the doctor's office all by my lonesome (aka without Dallin) to go to mine and Kylie's 2 month appointments. She did really great... until she had to get 3 whompin' shots in her sweet little thighs. She definitely let that nurse know that she DID NOT like what he was doing. (I have to admit I sure loved the snuggles she gave me as soon as I saved her from the examination table. She does love me!)

As for her stats...
Weight: 9lbs. 9 oz. (5%)
Heights: 22inches (10%)
Head Circumference: 15.5inches (75%-- like we said... she got the HUGE Hague head.)

Kylie is talking, smiling and starting to laugh. She still does not like tummy time, but usually manages to find her knuckles which calms her down.

She does really great chillin' on her back.

She's sleeps through most of the night, but naps during the day are still a little hit-n-miss. (we're working on it...)

She has also started trying to reach for things... but hasn't quite got the concept yet, as she goes for things with a clenched fist. Kylie also loves when daddy comes home and relieves her of mommy-time, and she always searches for him when she hears his voice coming through my cell-phone. It's adorable.

We love her to death and can't believe how much she is learning and growing each day.

We love you baby girl!

And I am slightly obsessed with outfits that have things on the bum... they're too cute. Even though they make her backside look enormous. :)

Kylie Update

Our sweet little girl has started talking and smiling at us!! It has been SOOO much fun!

This morning we were finally able to get it on video... we've been trying for quite a while!

Here you go!! (please excuse my obnoxious baby talk... can't help it)

This video also shows how much she moves her arms and legs... it's so funny to watch. :)

Oh... and I just had to add this picture for a comparison (week 1 to week 7) isn't it crazy how fast they grow!?

6 weeks.

First of all I can't believe it's been SIX WEEKS since Kylie was born (actually... I guess it is technically 7 weeks now.)

I have been counting down the weeks until I could start being active again, so when 6 weeks hit, we took advantage! :)

Dallin and I ran in the Operation Smile 5K on Saturday. The race was in Provo Canyon and it was so fun to see the leaves changing color, and hear the Provo River right next to the trail. Neither of us did quite as well as we were hoping (I ran it in 34 and Dallin in 36) but we still had a lot of fun and the route was absolutely beautiful!

Just as a side note (and an attempt at an excuse for our slow times)...both of us could have taken off at least 5 minutes off of our time if it hadn't been for the crazy trails we were running on. Before the race we had to walk for 10 minutes up a really steep hill to get to the start, which meant our legs were already tired. Then we ran downhill for the first half of the race on gravel trails/switchbacks that at times were only wide enough for one person and were so steep that you HAD to walk. Even if we had wanted to run the whole time... it wouldn't have been possible.

SO although it wasn't your typical race, it was still awesome and it felt SO GREAT to get out and do some physical activity! Not to mention help out a great cause!

Here's to the next race being a little better! (Maybe we'll actually train for the next one! haha.)
