Provo Home. Second Edition.

Okay. I know this is SUPER pathetic since we've been living in this house for almost 3 months ... but I finally got around to taking pictures of our 2-car-garage. I mean home. :)

ENJOY!

Bathroom.

Kitchen.

Family Room.

Entryway and "Pantry". :)

Our Bedroom. I always think of Andes Mints when I see the paint.

p.s. We did not do any painting when we moved in; other than touching up the window and door frames. All those awesomely bright colors came with the house! haha.

Free Turkey!!!

Winco currently has a deal.

If you spend $100 you get a free turkey.

Dallin and I were getting our groceries and were at maybe $45. BUT we decided... we're going to be needing a turkey and all the goods for Thanksgiving dinner anyway... why not get them now?! So we did.

Our bill totaled $100.97. Pretty good huh? (Don't worry the remaining $55 wasn't JUST spent on food for Thanksgiving.)

Here's a picture of the loot.

In a perfect world this food would last until we go home for Christmas... but I give it until a week or two after Thanksgiving! lol.

oh... we also got free apple juice. :P

Home Improvement

Last week I came home to Dallin doing his homework like this....

I realized, maybe we need to work on fixing our current temperature problem. (The average temperature in our home is around 50 degrees.)

Yes, we have a heater. But it doesn't do anything when the windows are so drafty that there is a breeze and when there is no insulation in the walls of your home.

This week we decided to play Mr. and Mrs. Fix-it and try to solve the problem. We covered our windows in plastic-shrink-wrap-stuff and put some padding around our door, the average temperature is up to about 53 degrees.

Guess we still need to work on the problem.

Pumpkin Anyone?

Leftover, uncut pumpkins (from the ward Halloween party) + overly ambitious ideas + an overwhelming desire to eat pumpkiny foods (bread, muffins, pie, smoothies, etc) = homemade pumpkin puree

Here are my thoughts after finishing this activity:

1. I have no idea why I decided to make my own puree
2. This activity was fun but very messy
4. Homemade pumpkin puree looks nothing like the stuff you buy in a can
5. The color of this MUST mean it is good for you
3. This made WAY more pumpkin than intended
4. We will be eating pumpkin for the next year or two

If anyone has any wonderful pumpkin recipes they want to share, I would love to try them!! :)

A Closer Look

So here's a closer look at everybody's houses that were made the other night.

The Shaeffer's: The Shaeffer Face!!!

The Ford's: The Ford Face!!!

The Pinkal's: Potato House!!! (I call it this because they cleverly bought and carved normal potatoes for the ghosts and sweet potatoes for the pumpkins. We all agreed that it was ingenious!)

The Hague's: The (Enter Name Here... I can't think of one)

Before we left for the night Chad wanted to make a haunted neighborhood. I had to put this up to show everyone our little scary street. I must admit, everybody's rendition of the Addam's Family theme song greatly enhances the spookiness of this shot. Enjoy!!!

Fall Festivities

We have had so much fun the last few weeks!! Here are a few highlights...

1. Haunted House making contest!

We had 3 wonderful couples over for dinner (pasta and homemade rolls shaped like bones). Then we went to Winco and each couple had a $3 limit to buy supplies/candy for their haunted house. Everyone was so creative, it was so much fun.

We finished the night by watching a scary movie... I don't know why I always agree to watch those silly movies.

2. Caramel Apples!!

Brandt and Liz came over and we made caramel apples together. These caramel apples were worthy of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory... they were amazing and I think we all ate WAY to much that night! But it was SO worth it! haha!!

Dallin's- Apple Pie

Liz's- Reeses Pieces

Brandt's- snickers and almond joy

Cassie's- sprinkles and white chocolate

All of this partying caused quite a nice stack of dishes to pile up...

3. Ward Halloween Party

Dallin had the great idea to be Superman and Lois Lane for Halloween. I think we looked pretty legit! :)

The party turned out great!! A lot of couples from the ward were there and everyone's costumes were incredible! There was a costume contest, lots of food, and a pumpkin carving contest.

We got 3rd place with our Pumpkin King pumpkin. We won free J-Dawgs and Drinks. (ironic that I don't like hotdogs. lol!)

After the party, one of the couples couldn't find their keys (they thought they were thrown away with the tablecloths and pumpkin guts) SOOO... we went dumpster diving. It was a great ward bonding experience. After going through all the bags of pumpkin grossness... we couldn't find the keys. Don't worry the keys were found... after we dug through all the garbage... in the diaper bag! haha!

I love this time of year!
