My little sister, Danielle, came and stayed with us for the weekend. She had a half day of school on Friday and no school on Monday (thank you President's Day!) so it was the perfect excuse for a little trip. :)
She got here Friday morning and we didn't stop partying until she left Monday evening. We went on a walk to visit Dallin's work, played lots of games, gave Kylie a bath and ate some delicious food.
On Saturday we decided to drive into Portland and spend the day downtown. We visited Powell's Bookstore, which takes up a whole BLOCK!
We also went to a store called The Real Mother Goose which is all handmade wood furniture and ceramics (this was Danielle's request.) While walking between stores we got caught in a massive rainstorm, and realized we will be needing a plastic rain cover for the stroller. haha! And then we ate dinner at a really delicious Italian restaurant with really cool chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.
The food wasn't bad either. ;)
We ended the trip by stopping at Voodoo Donuts. There was a huge line, so we waited about an hour to get our donuts, but they were worth it!
After we got Kylie to bed, Dallin and I got dressed up and went to an hour of the stake Valentine's Day dance. It was really fun to go dance Cotton Eye Joe and Gangnam Style. We loved reliving our high school stake dance days. :)
Sunday we all went to church together, and Danielle held Kylie and put her to sleep while I played the piano for Relief Society. Then we all went home and took naps, played games and watched a movie and a few tv shows.
Monday we all slept in! It was wonderful. We were going to head straight to Portland in the morning to do some more activities, but when we went to shower and get ready, our water was shut off! We had forgotten they were doing some maintenance on the pipes. SO... we just hung around the house and played with Kylie until the water was turned back on and we were able to get ready. We ended up just going to the Washington Square Mall and then it was time to drop Danielle off at the train station.
We loved having Aunt Danielle here! And can't wait until we get to see her again!
