Other news....

Just to finish off the recap (there are 5 new posts starting with Kylie's B-day if you want to go back and see them...), here are a few more things that have been keeping us busy.

Dallin was in charge of a ward BBQ.. I thought it turned out awesome! We were nervous that the rain would scare people away... but we're all die-hard Oregonians here (lol!)... a little downpour isn't gonna stop us! We had a great turn out.

Just a friendly game of tug-o-war. There was also a bike parade, obstacle course, pie contest, disc golf (of course,) volleyball and kickball.

We got our third "child" this month (just in case you're confused, Kylie is #1, and the baby grand is #2) We bought a Vitamix. And are seriously in heaven. Soups, shakes, and smoothies galore. We use it at least once a day. It was worth the splurge. :)

We had a big couponing trip, we paid $26 for $150 worth of stuff, and were given $15 to spend on our next outing. We've still got it. lol!

Lastly, our garage door totally busted the Sunday before Memorial Day. Kylie and I were coming home after a walk, and I went to close the garage and all of a sudden it sounded like our whole house was breaking apart. It bent in like a thousand places and wouldn't close...

and then since Monday was a holiday we had to go a few days with it open and unusable. It was a little bit of a headache... and we were late to church because of it. But we got it fixed. YAY!

Intel Games

Dallin's work group had a game day on September 18th.

Each group chose a movie to be their theme.
Here's some of the competition..

Matrix
Oh Brother Where Art Thou
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Dallin's group were the Spartans from the movie 300. They really got into their costumes. I guess staying up until 1am paid off since they won movie tickets for "Best Costume." ;)

check out those abs!! ahahaha.

They played lots of games like Quiddich, tug-o-war, pictionary, soccer, dodgeball, etc. Families weren't technically supposed to be involved, but we just hung out on the sidelines and took pictures (and Kylie may have walked around and watched all the gaming...)

Hero-Up

On September 7th, Dallin and I (and lots of friends and family,) participated in the Hero-Up 5K and half marathon. Dallin and I ran the 5K dressed as superman/woman.

Dallin's cousin Darcee put on the race, in memory of her son who she lost a year ago to a brain tumor. Keith loved superheroes, and Darcee loves running, so it was a perfect combination of the two. There were a lot of people at the race and almost everyone was dressed up as superheroes. I loved coming around every corner and seeing another hero.

Dallin and I won an award for Best Duo. Kylie should have been included as well, she was our kryptonite.

Dallin purposely grew out his hair so he could get the superman look just right

I also won my age division! Woohoo! Feels good to win... even if there were only 6 people I had to beat...

We loved having Dallin's parents and Lori's family stay with us for the weekend. It was crowded, but so fun!

Lake House

We left for Lake Cocolalla the day after Kylie's birthday. We spent a few days with the Hague family. We went boating, did a fire or two and just had a great time!

Grillin' up dinner for the fam
 "Brampa" :)
Kylie's first tube ride...
she loved it! And kept asking for more.

We drove back to the Tri-Cities on Sunday so we could be home for BRANDEN TO GET HOME!!!! He finished his 2-year mission in Fortaleza, Brazil, on August 20th, and his flight got in at noon. I could hardly contain my excitement, or my tears! lol.

He was so used to being constantly busy... and couldn't stand just sitting around the house, so we went and played disc golf before he was officially released.

Kylie warmed up to him really quick, they were so cute together.

The day after Branden flew in, we headed back to Lake Cocolalla, but this time we took the Heath family. They had not been to the lake before, and I'm pretty sure they had a great time. We had beautiful weather (most of the time)!

the driver. Thanks babe!
Branden got all his skills back pretty quick!
This is Kylie laughing... she throws her head back... I may have taught her that. :)
Betsy, Tonya (and their kiddos) and Grandma Miskho decided to join us for a day. Allie and Aimee loved when Trevor or I would get thrown off the tubes on the water (I think we were the only ones who fell).... they would cheer "throw Cassie off" the entire boat ride. haha!

We finished off our trip by going to church and hearing Branden speak and report on his mission. He bore his testimony of the gospel in Portuguese, even though I couldn't understand anything, I could feel his love for the gospel and Jesus Christ. It was quite awesome.
